The TVEC Charitable Foundation

The TVEC Charitable Foundation has awarded a grant in the amount of $2,000 to the Texas Star Quilters Guild. The grant was awarded on March 26, 2024.The TVEC Charitable Foundation is funded by donations from Operation Round Up.

“The Texas Start Quilters Guild is a wonderful example of the generosity and spirit that I love about our TVEC service area,” said Bobbi Byford, Director of Corporate Relations. “The Guild shows that every talent and skill can be used to assist in the community. Their commitment to giving back to the most vulnerable in our community really shows their character.”

Operation Round Up is a voluntary program, began in April of 2013, that allows TVEC members to round up their monthly electric bills to the next whole dollar amount. The portion that is rounded up goes to the TVEC Charitable Foundation and may be used to award grant requests to local charitable organizations.

Want to be a Sponsor of this Non Profit organization?

Texas Star Quilters Guild is a nonprofit organization that has been serving East Texas for over 30 years. In 2023 alone, the Guild provided handmade quilts which were given to the Sheriff’s Department, Hope Pregnancy Center, the Children’s Advocacy Center and many other organizations. In addition, we make bibs and adaptive sweaters for nursing home residents, placemats for Meals on Wheels, and over 100 Quilts for Veterans through the Quilts of Valor Program. Monetary donations for over $5000 were given to local charities. We also offer Sit & Sews for anyone in the community interested in learning to sew twice monthly at the Van Zandt County Library. This summer we will be offering Kids Summer Sew camps through the Van Zandt County 4H.
